An alleged window smasher in Oliver is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
So says Oliver RCMP who responded to three incidents of window smashing at three separate businesses on the night of April 17.
RCMP Sgt. Don Wrigglesworth reported that police were initially called to investigate a smashed window at the Oliver Community Centre. During patrol, police discovered a smashed window at Big Al’s Bakery and a smashed door at Southside Builders. All incidents were deemed mischief as no break and enter occurred.
“A male suspect was located by police and he was lodged in cells due to his erratic behaviour,” Wrigglesworth said, noting the man was later transported to Penticton Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
The Oliver RCMP continue to investigate the incidents by securing video surveillance from local businesses.
