That’s how you can describe the rock falls at Gallagher Lake as a Kelowna company continues to conduct rock scaling from the top of the mountain overlooking the serene lake.
Crews with T&A Rock Works are making the mountain safe before work begins on repairing a section of irrigation pipe that was damaged recently due to a major rock fall.
Troy Brown, a blaster who works for T&A, is patrolling the area to ensure nobody enters the danger zone while scaling is performed. He said screws are basically dislodging unstable sections of rock by hand. And once these rocks tumble down the mountain and crash into the water, it’s an amazing sight and sound to behold.
Scaling will continue Saturday and Monday.
Time is of the essence because the canal needs to be fixed before irrigation season starts in April.
