Dear Editor:
I have lived in Osoyoos since 1990. I have owned a business here. I have also lived on the West Bench just below Hwy 97 since 1993.
Every summer we have had the odour waft down hill from the sewage settling ponds being sprayed on the golf course.
We all have known what it was and have dealt with it. That has been 27 years for me and all our neighbours, we never complained.
But this year has been absolutely, insanely sickening, I mean so sickening it is actually making us and our neighbours ill at night!
It is summer and we all open our windows for some fresh air in the evenings. All day we’ve been closed up with the air conditioning on.
Now the sulphur smell is unbearable!
It is imperative that we find an immediate solution to this sickening sulphur smell – it certainly can’t be healthy.
I want the Town of Osoyoos to find the money and the solution to help your employees and your engineering department remedy this disgraceful problem ASAP.
For the love of this community, I appreciate the work our town’s mayor and council are doing but this is a problem needs their immediate attention.
K. Cline, Osoyoos
