Oliver RCMP are investigating an incident that occurred on Primrose Street off Road 3 last night.

While the Chronicle is awaiting details from police, Jo Tanner who lives in the area said there were several cop cars and two ambulances outside the residence in question at 6:30 pm.

Tanner said her daughter was on her way home last night from church when she was stopped by police at Road 3.

“A cop told my daughter that shots were fired.”

Tanner said she saw an ambulance leave the scene with sirens activated.

“It made for a very unrestful evening . . . I didn’t sleep.”

A police car has been stationed outside the house this morning.

Yesterday local police were busy trying to intercept suspects near Osoyoos relating to an incident that occurred in the Cranbrook/Castlegar area.
