Oliver firefighters were led on a “wild goose chase” this afternoon while looking for a single vehicle accident on Black Sage Road.

The call came in as a motor vehicle incident, possibly a rollover south of 5900 Black Sage Road. But firefighters and ambulance couldn’t find it until they were told of a vehicle sitting on the side of a steep hill across the corn fields east of Black Sage Road.

The car was on all four wheels with apparent damage to the roof. Fire Chief Dan Skaros investigated the scene and reported that nobody was in the vehicle. No further action was taken and emergency personnel left the scene.
