The RCMP have released a description of the man who robbed Eastside Grocery in Oliver on July 16.

He is described as a white male in his late 50’s or early 60’s, standing nearly six feet tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has facial hair and a cleft lip or scar above his lip. He has grey, longer, surfer-style hair. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing jeans with a black shirt and black leather coat, with a dark coloured ball cap. He looked thin and sickly.

Police reported the robber entered the store and produced a weapon. (The store owner reported it was a handgun.)

The suspect made off with a small amount of cash and candy.

The RCMP reported the man departed in an older model GMC pickup truck described as an older model, smaller size (possibly quarter ton), two-tone white or light grey and dark grey with a red stripe along the bottom. It may have had a dark grey or black canopy on the box.

The RCMP conducted extensive patrols for the suspect vehicle, but no sighting was reported.
