BC Southern Interior MP Alex Atamanenko is pleased that NDP MP Murray Rankin will be in Oliver as part of his national “Retirement Security for All” tour.
Rankin will be outlining the current state of affairs as well as sharing some pension reform initiatives proposed by his party.
“I am very happy that Murray will be able to be with us in Oliver,” stated Atamanenko. “In addition to outlining some of our proposals, it is my hope to get feedback from those present as to what some of the priorities are for pension reform.”
The meeting will be held Saturday Nov. 30 in Oliver at the Elks Hall from noon to 2 pm. A light lunch will be served. Call 250-498-5353 to confirm your attendance and reserve lunch.
According to Rankin, “nearly one third of our workforce is facing a steep drop off in their standard of living by retirement. Only 38 per cent of Canadians have access to a workplace pension plan. We can do better for our seniors.”
