The South Okanagan will be well represented in this year’s BC Senior Games, which are set to take place in Kamloops from August 20–24.
Event organizers said this year’s Games have drawn over 3700 athletes from all over BC, five of whom are in their 90s.
Oliver will be represented by 23 participants who will compete in golf, dragon boat, badminton, slow-pitch, track and field, five-pin bowling, tennis and archery. Osoyoos will be sending 28 athletes, who will represent the town in dragon boat, golf, slow-pitch, five-pin bowling and archery.
The Games are open to BC residents 55 years and older. The 2014 Games will be held in Langley on September 9–13. For up-to-date results during and after the Games, visit www.bcseniorgames.org.
