One big cheque – Members of the South Okanagan hospital auxiliary (thrift store) present the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation with a $100,000 cheque to help pay for the new Vocera communication system at the Oliver hospital. Administrators hope to install the new system this fall. It will allow nurses and other staff members to communicate through an electronic device instead of relying on the overhead paging system.
