It’s already Labour Day this Monday and for some of us the summer has gone much too quickly. Others will be relieved to see their kids return to school – thankfully in their own community.

The holiday Monday also means the Osoyoos Times office will be closed.

The deadline for display advertising (box ads) is moved to Friday at 2 p.m.

The deadline for classified advertising is 2 p.m. on Tuesday, as always.

And we publish on Wednesday, as usual.

Summer doesn’t officially end until later in September, and even then, we’re fortunate in Osoyoos to enjoy summer-like weather well into the fall.

But Labour Day psychologically marks the end of summer. The streets become a little less congested, people return from vacations and the nights become cooler.

Please be extra careful with driving, boating and other activities over the long weekend. And don’t allow your friends to drink and drive.

Have a safe and enjoyable Labour Day long weekend!
