The Oliver Cemetery was a target of recent vandalism.

Flowers, flower holders and small mementos were removed from plots in the Fairview Cremation section and carelessly tossed under a tree next to the plots, said Patti Hannas, Town of Oliver public works clerk.

“If you recognize any of these items, we ask that you please replace them on the appropriate plot.”

The Town’s Cemetery Bylaw 1315, section 40. c. states that “No person shall: damage, deface, or remove any marker, monument, fence, gate or structure in the Cemetery, or any other improvement in the Cemetery.”

Hannas said the Town is “disappointed” by the vandalism.
