The Half Corked Marathon is back for its 11th year on Saturday and although tickets for runners are no longer available, everyone is welcome to join in the festivities.
The race starts at Burrowing Owl Estate Winery, with three waves of runners at 7:45, 8:25 and 9:10 a.m.
Runners will cross the finish line in Oliver Community Park between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. where they’ll be greeted with a party at the finish line. The Winemaker Dinner in the Park starts at 6 p.m.
Now in its 11th year, the marathon has 1,500 participants that follow an 18km route weaving through vineyards of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country.
Wineries and winery stations along the route offer participants, many in costume, tastings of local wines.
The event wraps up with a Party at the Finish Line in Oliver Community park where all 43 participating wineries offer tastings alongside food and live music. Everyone is welcome to join and wine tasting packages start at $25.
That evening, the Winemaker Dinner in the Park is back for a second year, with each table featuring one of the region’s leading wineries and its winemaker. Also in Oliver Community Park, there will be live jazz music and food catered by Oliver Eats.
