A man was shot following a disturbance at a home in the 5500 block of Yarrow Street in Oliver on Monday night.
Officers responded to a call about a disturbance between two men at 5:50 p.m. on June 15. On arrival, RCMP found one man had been shot and left with non-life threatening injuries.
Both men were taken into police custody. The victim is a 43-year-old Oliver resident. facing charges of mischief and dangerous driving related to the event. The shooter is the 62-year-old resident of the home and is now facing firearms charges.
They have since been released and are expected to appeal in court on September 16.
The event marks the second shooting in Oliver in a week. Investigators for both cases are in communication but do not believe there is any connection between the events at this time.
Police are asking any witnesses to Monday’s shooting or anyone with information about what may have led to the confrontation to contact the Oliver RCMP at 250-498-3422 or Crime Stoppers.
