Today, the province is reporting 23 new cases and three new deaths related to COVID-19.

This brings the total number of cases in B.C. to 2,255, which includes 179 in the Interior Health region. The total number of deaths in the province has reached 124.

There are no new long-term care facility outbreaks in B.C. (the number currently stands at 17).

There is a total of 98 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in three poultry facilities in the Lower Mainland.

There are also 134 inmates and staff confirmed positive at the Mission correctional centre, as well as 16 positive cases of COVID-19 connected to the Kearl Lake plant in Alberta.

To date, 1,494 people who had tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered.

Of the total COVID-19 cases, 74 individuals are hospitalized, and 19 of those are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

“We are not yet ready to make any changes to the measures we have in place, said Minister of Health Adrian Dix and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry in a joint statement.

“Just this week, new outbreaks have emerged. Without continued vigilance, hot spots will quickly flare.”
