Despite a newly renovated hospital emergency department in Oliver, it had to be closed temporarily (again) on March 8-9 due to limited physician availability.
The unexpected closure occurred from 6 p.m. March 8 to 8 a.m. March 9.
Interior Health said it regretted the temporary service change which affected only the emergency department due to staffing challenges.
Residents were told to call 9-1-1 for an emergency or visit Penticton Regional Hospital.
