Oliver Brownies have opened their little hearts to give the less fortunate a better Christmas this year.

The squad visited the Oliver food bank on Wednesday to help put together some hampers for the Christmas season.

“As Christmas is a time of giving, we wanted to share with the community how our eight year olds are doing their part,” said Brownie leader Sonya Urbanski.

She noted the girls had a great time learning about who the food bank serves and where they receive their donations from.

The girls then drew Christmas messages on the grocery bags used to provide the rations to clients. They also donated enough handmade ornaments so that each bag will contain a Christmas ornament.
