Oliver firefighters were called to a reported “gas line hit” at 750 Merlot Avenue this afternoon.
The line was apparently compromised near a child care centre.
Fire Chief Bob Graham said that workers were putting in a fence when they hit a gas line. “Because it was at a daycare we sent the kids to Tuc-el-Nuit school.”
