RCMP apprehended a well-known prolific offender in Osoyoos Wednesday night.
Jeffrey Pelly, 42, appeared in court Thursday and has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance on Sept. 26.
The arrest was conducted the night of Sept. 12 by the Regional Targeted Enforcement Unit (TEU) at a property in Osoyoos.
At the time of his arrest, Pelly was wanted on two separate warrants, one of which alleges that Pelly took off from police on Aug. 21 in a stolen pickup truck, said Cst. James Grandy, media relations officer with Penticton-South Okanagan RCMP.
Two years ago, Pelly made headlines after police saw him re-offending only 12 minutes after he left the Penticton bail office from court.
“Great coordinated effort and intelligence led to his arrest,” said Cst. Liam McCready of the TEU in a statement. “Habitual offenders like Pelly create a lot of crime and use a lot of resources. Very good to have him back in jail.”

You don’t understand him at all if you think be belongs in jail. That officers statement is rude and unjustifiably one sided. Maybe you should be in jail officer laim. Every time you cash your pay cheque your stealing from the public you ignorance dose not surprise me.
Jeff obviously needs a psychiatric evaluation. The word “prolific “ bothers me! Defined it means more than one charge AND at risk to re-offend. If he was given an evaluation and / or diagnosis , he may have received the mental treatment he desperately needs and abolish the threat of re-offence.
