The Cask & Keg festival – part of the Wine Capital Weekend – took place on Sept. 20 with visitors enjoying tastings of Okanagan craft beers, cider, and spirits. This year, in addition to the popular Beer Olympics, the first ever Steinholding Challenge was be held.

The traditional steinholding endurance test saw participants holding a full 1-litre beer stein at arm’s length, parallel to the ground, for as long as you could. The winner lasted for 6 minutes, beating the average holding time of 2-4 minutes, but not quite matching the world record of over 21 minutes.
