A free eight-week online money management program is being offered to assist South Okanagan residents build financial confidence through practical tools, personalized support, and a supportive group environment.
Launch Okanagan is inviting the communities of the Southern Interior to join our Dollars & Sense program designed for anyone who feels stuck or wants to gain better control of their finances.
This welcoming and practical program focuses on essential topics like budgeting, spending, and debt management, all within a supportive online setting. Topics covered will relate to personal finances including: your relationship with money, budgeting, income and taxes, saving, credit, debt, investing and consumerism.
Dollars & Sense is open to everyone; no specific eligibility requirements and sessions are held live on Zoom. Participants can attend anonymously by turning off their camera and microphone and changing their screen name while logged in to the Zoom call. Participants are not required to participate during the sessions, but opportunities to ask questions will be available.
Participants will learn:
- How to pay down debt;
- How to save for future goals or big purchases;
- How to use (and stick to) a budget;
- How to feel confident making financial decisions;
- How to build a stronger financial position for 1, 5, and 10 years into the future.
In addition to the group classes, experienced facilitators are available to answer individual money questions one-on-one, offering tailored guidance and support.
“I thought the instruction was great! I felt like there was a deep care to genuinely help people feel more financially literate! I really appreciated the emails, post workshop as well,” said one recent participant.
Launch Financial Education Society (Launch Okanagan), is a non-profit community organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families to achieve financial security and independence. Operating across the Okanagan, it addresses the critical need for accessible financial education and support.
