A mock-mass casualty event was staged by the Oliver Fire Department (OFD) and BC Emergency Health Services (BC Ambulance) on June 27 with the help of the Oliver Ambassadors and members of the local 232 Bighorn Squadron Air Cadets.

The training exercise organized the OFD simulating a mass causality incident involving a truck driving into a crowd. Members of BCEHS were also on scene to render assistance.

“While we hope events like this never occur, a quote we like to use in training is ‘Hope is not a plan’…running hi fidelity simulations such as this is what prepares our crews for real life situations,” the OFD said in a social media post.
