The Town of Osoyoos has advised residents and visitors that the south pedestrian sidewalk of the Hwy. 3 Osoyoos Trestle Bridge will to be closed to pedestrian traffic from Oct. 7-18. Pedestrians should use the north sidewalk as it will remain open during the maintenance.
The closure is due to FortisBC conducting pipeline maintenance on the underside of the bridge. The work is being carried out by Acuren/Tacten Industrial on behalf of FortisBC.
Further disruption of pedestrian traffic may result from a staging area being set up in the parking lot at Pioneer Walkway, which may impede pedestrian access around the fountain area, the town added.
There are no planned long-term highway traffic interruptions or lane closures anticipated.
Marine traffic is advised that one passageway will be closed at a time, marker buoys and signage will be present.
