The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 97 in Oliver has made a $10,000 donation to the South Okanagan General Hospital (SOGH), continuing its long-running support of the SOS Medical Foundation.
Branch 97 raises funds through various gaming activities, such as meat draws and 50/50 raffles. Since all proceeds from these events are donated locally, supporting SOGH was a natural choice for their members, said the Medical Foundation.
In 2023, Branch 97 also made a generous donation to support the Foundation’s $10 million Oncology Campaign for the new clinic scheduled to open in July of 2025.
Ian Lindsay, CEO of the SOS Medical Foundation, expressed gratitude, saying, “We are deeply thankful for the Legion’s ongoing dedication to enhancing healthcare in Oliver, demonstrating the power of locals helping locals to ensure our community receives the best possible care.”
