The Town of Olive has announced the completion of the Co-op Avenue Reconstruction Project as of September 13, 2024. The project was made possible due to funding from the Provincial Government’s Growing Communities Fund with additional contributions from the Town of Oliver and BC Tree Fruits.

Upgrades to Co-op Avenue include 230 metres of sidewalk to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility, and a new three-way traffic stop at the intersection of Co-op Avenue and Station Street that will further strengthen traffic management, reduce congestion and potential accidents, the town said.

In addition to the road and sidewalk enhancements, the project encompassed critical underground infrastructure improvements to the Town’s sanitary sewer, storm sewer, reclaimed water, and potable water systems. “These upgrades will improve the reliability and efficiency of our utilities and ensure more efficient transportation,” the town added.

“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank residents and visitors for their patience and understanding while these upgrades have been completed.”
