Oliver RCMP are looking for a pair of armed robbers who targeted a cannabis dispensary on April 21.

At approximately 2 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at an unlicensed marijuana dispensary located on Highway 97 near Tucelnuit Drive.

“Two males had produced handguns to the security guard on site and placed him inside an unlocked washroom,” said Sgt. Don Wrigglesworth, adding the culprits proceeded to break into two shipping containers that contained cannabis products for other store locations.

A number of plastic bins containing various cannabis items were taken.

“The security guard was not harmed and once the suspects departed he was able to seek assistance from a nearby person sleeping in a transport truck,” Wrigglesworth said.

The officer noted the suspects had stolen the security guard’s vehicle, wallet and cell phone, but police were able to locate his belongings that were abandoned and undamaged on Highway 3 later in the morning.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Cst. Steve Martindale of the Oliver RCMP at 250-498-3422.
