The Town of Osoyoos has issued another swimming advisory for Legion Beach due to unsatisfactory water quality.
Previously this summer, unsatisfactory bacteriological results from water samples taken at Legion Beach prompted the Town to issue a warning advising people not to swim at this location.
The Town defines “unsatisfactory” as samples taken over a 30-day period containing an average of more than 200 E. coli bacteria/100ml, and/or a series of single sample results exceeding 400 E. coli bacteria/100ml.
Satisfactory is defined as an average of less than or equal to 200 E.coli bacteria/100 ml.
The swimming advisory will be in effect until such time that water samples return to a satisfactory nature.
