The Nighthawks captured gold in a recent minor hockey tournament, defeating the Okanagan Allstars in the final.

The Okanagan Nighthawks captured gold in their recent tournament, defeating  the Okanagan Allstars of Kelowna 6-2.

Trailing 2-0 after the first period, the Hawks scored six unanswered goals to take home the title. Liam Ruck and Brodie Kenney each scored a pair, while Isaac Finer and Mathis Preston scored solos.

Jorja Moore was solid in goal, making many key saves, including a point blank opportunity when the score was 3-2 with just five minutes remaining. Danica Maynard was named game MVP for the Nighthawks.

Tournament goal scorers for the Nighthawks were Brodie Kenney (9), Liam Ruck (5), Mathis Preston (5), Everett Seeley (5), Marcus Ruck (3), Isaac Finer (2), Will Mohns (2).

Other members of the team include Josh Hanson, Jasper Thomas, Tanner Sunderman, Preston Gabriel, Evan Russell, Scott Ball and Nolan Vieira.
