Oliver and District Recreation has begun construction of the new outdoor basketball court at the Oliver Community Park, a process which will take about two weeks.
The countdown is on for the annual Roots and Fruits Expo which takes place this Sunday, June 23 nearly two months earlier in the summer than usual to maximize participation from the local community.
Fans of the annual Rock & Roll Picnic family event at the Oliver Community Park should know one thing: the annual event has leapfrogged nearly two months earlier on the calendar.
Don’t leave Oliver on Saturday because the Roots & Fruits Expo starts off with a Main Street parade at 10:30 a.m. and only gets better as the day goes on. The annual event, formerly called the Sunshine Festival, is a free celebration of the community, its people, the land, and its history.
The Rock & Roll Picnic is on Aug. 19 returns to Oliver Community Park from 6 to 10 p.m. on the Friday before the Roots & Fruits Expo on Saturday, Aug. 20
