Canada’s only semi-arid shrubland, often confused for being a desert, was the setting for the kick off of the annual “Make Water Work, Plant FireSmart” campaign earlier today.
A high-density residential space in Osoyoos is saying they are being treated unfairly in comparison to single family dwellings in town when it comes to water restrictions currently in effect.
The Town of Osoyoos was named the “Make Water Work 2025 Champion Community,” recognizing residents for taking the most per-capita pledges in the outdoor water conservation campaign organized by the Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB).
The Okanagan will remain at a Level 2 drought rating even as the annual valley-wide outdoor water conservation campaign – “Make Water Work” – winds down for the year as home and farm irrigation is shut down and winterized.
