Wanda Joyce Pendergraft

August 18, 1968 – November 18, 2023

On Saturday, November 18, 2023, Wanda Joyce Pendergraft of Oliver and formerly of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 55 years old. She was predeceased by her father, Raymond Vandenberg. Wanda will be forever missed by her daughters, Miranda Pendergraft (Joey Marcy) and Taylor Pendergraft (Dayman Grant); mother, Diena Vandenberg; sisters, Barb Zunti (Dave), Rosanne Kress (Pete) and Sandra Scheer (Wilf), father’s partner, Jean Clarke; nieces, nephews, a large extended family; as well as Wayne Pendergraft and Jack Proulx. In Wanda’s younger years she enjoyed and excelled in a variety of sports including basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball. She also loved Track and Field and won many blue ribbons to show case her talent. On top of that she was awarded the Physical Education award in Grade 12. Wanda married her high school love, Wayne Pendergraft in 1993 and found love a second time in 2020, when she met Jack Proulx who took excellent care of her until their time was cut short. Over the years Wanda had many different jobs. She started working at Pay-n-Save, which turned out to be a lot more than just a job but the start of some long-lasting friendships. She was also a housekeeper, cashier, an Elementary School playground monitor, and a homemaker where she spent a lot of her time caring for her girls, which was by far her most favourite job of all. Wanda enjoyed many hockey trips over the years to places like San Jose and San Francisco. She was also fortunate to enjoy the Oregan coast, Silverwood theme park, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Disneyland. While the girls were growing up, Wanda volunteered her time coaching volleyball and basketball. She was a minor hockey team manager/treasurer and minor hockey tournament coordinator. When Wanda wasn’t watching her girls play soccer, volleyball, basketball or hockey, she enjoyed camping, singing/karaoke, painting and sewing, which she taught herself. A private family viewing will take place at the Osoyoos Elks Hall from 12:30 – 1:00 pm, Saturday December 9, 2023. The doors will open to the public after the visitation is complete at 1:00 pm with the funeral service starting at 2:00 pm. A light reception will follow the service.
