Stewart (Stu) Allen Pedersen
Stewart (Stu) Allen Pedersen passed away on Sunday, October 13th, 2024 at his home in Blind Bay. He was born in Alberta in 1941 as the youngest of 5 children. In 1964 Stu married the love of his life Erla Pedersen (nee: Shannon) and for the next 60 years they enjoyed raising their four children: Stewart “Jimmy”, Janice (Blaine), Michael and Zoe. They also fulfilled the all important grandparent role for five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In 1997 Stu retired after a 27 year career with the Bank of Montreal. They lived in several locations but spent most of their years in Osoyoos before settling in Blind Bay.
Stu cared about immediate and extended family alike but especially enjoyed attending the many events of his grandchildren. He loved travelling throughout western Canada in the motorhome with Erla and spending winters in Arizona.
Stu liked to cook for those in attendance who were often treated to an appetiser of his much sought after devilled eggs. He enjoyed small wood projects and many of us are fortunate to have possession of at least one of his stools to use as a chair, end table or night stand. He enjoyed golf, daily walks, local and world news, casual yet factual conversation, the sound and vision of a passing train and an afternoon or evening watching the CFL or NFL. Stu was a caring person who spoke no ill will of anyone and was always interested in what others had to say or what they did.
We will most certainly miss his gentle presence, mindful recollections and factual conversations but these personal interactions of our past will live on in our memories forever.
There will not be a public service.
