August 13, 1934 – March 1, 2024

On Friday, March 1, 2024, Steve Szabo of Oliver passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 89. He is predeceased by his father John Szabo; wife Esther Szabo; brothers Frank, Joe, and John Szabo; sister Lydia Szabo; and son Bruce Szabo. Steve is survived by his brothers Andy (Ann) and Jim (Mag) Szabo; sister Marie Murri; son Kirby Szabo; daughters Sheryl Szabo and Leona Foster; grandsons Seth Norman and Brett Szabo; great-grandsons Silas Norman and Ehren Norman; and daughter-in-law Cassie Norman as well as many extended family and friends. Steve was a cowboy and worked in both Alberta and Saskatchewan on different farms and orchards. He enjoyed going on road trips that took him back to Saskatchewan to visit his brother Jim; down to California to visit his sister Marie; and travelling to Hungary with Zoltan to visit his brother John and extended family. He was an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, volunteering in different roles throughout the church and school. He was always there to lend a helping hand to friends and family when they needed. A memorial service for Steve will be held at 11:00 am, Sunday April 14, 2024 the Oliver Seventh-day Adventist Church followed by an interment and committal at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery.
