Sandra (Sandy) Lillian Taylor
April 7, 1947 – December 7, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Sandy on December 7, 2023, at the age of 76 in San Diego, California. Sandy was born on April 7, 1947 in Vancouver, B.C. to Florence and James Waddell. She grew up in Sandspit living by the ocean and was most recently living in Oliver, B.C. More recently, she spent her winters in Arizona, following her love of sun. She is survived by her siblings, Audrey Twa (Les), Lenard Waddell (Carol), and Ray Waddell (Darlene). She is also survived by her stepdaughter Lisa Moran (Gary), two step grandsons, and many nieces, nephews, greatnieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and cousins who she adored deeply. She was predeceased by her mother and father. She took great pride in her family and was a constant presence at family events. Sandy knew that she had a passion for adventure and travel in her youth, which led her to a long and successful career in the airlines. Soon after finishing high school, Sandy first took up a position with the airlines in Sandspit. Her 40 + year career in the airlines led her further from home to Campbell River, Vancouver, and Fort St. John, where she served as the Station Manager with Air Canada. Later, she enjoyed serving in the hospitality industry at wineries in the Okanagan. Sandy’s love of travel took her around the world. More recently, she spent each winter in Yuma, Arizona where she had many cherished friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
