Margaret Joan Nunweiler
July 13, 1949 – December 2, 2024
It is with a very heavy heart that I say goodbye to my beautiful Mother!
Born July 13, 1949 Drumheller Alberta.
In 1969, Joan married Wayne Redenbach of Oliver, B.C, and together they had a son, Brent Redenbach. They enjoyed many years together until Wayne’s untimely death from M.S. on Oct 14, 1990. She endured what life threw at her, and remained in her little town of Oliver where she later married Blaine William Nunweiler of Oliver, B.C.
Joan was a very giving unselfish matriarch to our family and spent a great deal of time making sure our family had wonderful family dinners and special gatherings together. As a young woman, she worked at a variety of jobs. She was very welcoming of anyone who came into her home. She was detailed and had an amazing memory for dates and life events. She was an insightful person and loved just being with family and friends for any kind of social gathering.
A devoted wife and mother, proud grandma She dedicated her life to the unconditional love of her family. She had a heart of gold even when she was going through some hard times herself.
The quintessential homebody once she retired. She was a private, capable, independent woman. She was grateful for every day, every visit and every phone call she received from family and friends.
Her cooking and entertaining skills were renowned. She loved animals. She was a beautiful, adventurous, caring, spicy, and loving woman. The friends that Joan leaves behind blessed her life beyond words. She will be terribly missed, but we take comfort that she is now pain-free.
A huge THANK YOU Beyond words to: Andrea White, Mom’s caring spitfire neighbour who went above and beyond for Mom the last 2 years, we cannot thank you enough! Without you, this journey would not have gone the way it did! She truly loved you.
Ernie Weger, YOU, you were one of her rocks!! Her lifelong friend. ALWAYS being there for her in many helping ways, she always loved you for that and being by her side for all those hard years with Wayne before his passing and along the later times. She always had a smile and stories to tell when you were mentioned! Take comfort knowing you were loved immensely by her!
Kenneth Nunweiler AND Deb and Bob Pohl for the help taking care of her in her weakest times; sorting goods, running errands, cleaning, appointments, irrigation. We thank you.
Ron and Patty Milz for all the visits, yard work, countless hours of helping mom around the house, and appointments. She loved you guys and were always there for her. Thank you!
Cecile Regnar for the watchful eye and overnight ears when we needed someone, Thank you!
To all who helped Mom over the last years alone at her home…it was HUGELY appreciated.
Survived by her son Brent and his wife Rae Redenbach of Okanagan Falls; granddaughter Chloe Redenbach; brother Randy Dixon and Vanessa of Osoyoos; sister Bonnie Candianedes and her daughters Jana, Kassie, and Jordan of Oregon, US.
