James Arvid Anderson

June 11, 1952 – October 8, 2023

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, James (Jim) Anderson of Osoyoos passed unexpectedly in the evening.

He is predeceased by his father, Carl and mother, Florence.
Jim is survived by his wife Mary; sister Jean; children, Craig (Heather) and Beth (Ian); step-daughter Trina (Chris); grandchildren Ethan and Emily; step-granddaughter Keana; step-great-granddaughter Hunter; and brothers-in-law David and Mike.

Jim was a lifelong cattle rancher who also worked for the Highway Department, driving a plow truck in the winter, and served as a fire warden, checking on Recreation Sites. On sale days, he worked in the stock yards in Okanagan Falls.

Jim and his wife Mary, enjoyed travelling to many places, spending winters in Yuma, Arizona; vacationing in Mexico, and even making it all the way to Cuba. Jim and Mary recently spent most summers travelling to Vancouver Island, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Jim was active in his children’s 4-H club as a 4-H leader and mentor. He was largely involved in the Kettle River Stockman’s Association and the Southern Interior Stockman’s Association, and his cattle have won numerous awards at the Rock Creek Fall Fair.

Jim was an avid reader and was very proud of his gardening skills. His love of travelling led him and Mary throughout much of North America, all while listening to the music he loved so much.

There will be a Celebration of Jim’s life held on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at the Nk’Mip Campground Clubhouse #1 from 2 pm – 5 pm.
