Ingrid Nicholson
1942 – 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Ingrid Nicholson.
She leaves behind her daughters, Angie (Stephen) and Vanessa (Josh); her six grandchildren, Emmily, Zachary, Lucas, Harrison, Bronwyn, and Jaxon; and her four great-grandchildren, Rowan, Hunter, Parker, and Liam, with one more on the way. She loved them all deeply.
Ingrid was an incredible woman, full of energy and a zest for life that many admired. She was an avid world traveler and was proud to have set foot in 58 countries, experiencing hundreds of cities and towns across the world she loved so much.
Adventurous from a young age, Ingrid left her birth country of Germany in 1964 to begin a new life in Canada. She never looked back. That same bravery and tenacity carried her through the rest of her life.
She was actively involved in every community she joined, bringing vitality and enthusiasm to everything she touched. A devoted volunteer, she worked on and led multiple causes at once, always leaving them stronger than she found them.
Ingrid was also athletic. She enjoyed swimming, biking, and golfing. But without question, her greatest joy was gardening. She spent countless hours tending not only her own garden but many others as well. Those gardens will miss her as much as we do.
Rest in peace, Mom.
A memorial ceremony will be held outdoors at the Summerland Canyon View Cemetery at 1:00pm on March 23, 2026, followed by an open house at Zias Stonehouse Restaurant from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. All are welcome to join us in celebrating Ingrid’s life.
