
Edwin Ted Osborne
May 9, 1947 – May 16, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ted, who left us suddenly on May 16th, 2025, in Oliver, BC at the age of 78.
He is predeceased by his mother (Molly), 4 sisters (Gloria, Evelyn, Vinnie), and 2 brothers (Dennis and Jack).
He is survived by his wife Carol Osborne, Daughter Colleen (Brent) Goodman, Son Sean (Lauralee) Osborne, grandchildren Lyrica, Justin, North, and Arianna, great grandchildren Arwyn and Indigo, Sisters-in-law Diane (Brian) Zorn and Julie (Stan) Wolter and their families, and mother–in-law Marion Sanderson. His bothers Frank Armella, Bill Osborne, and many nieces and nephews.
He was an amazing high school English and drama teacher for 30 years in Hinton and Westlock. After retirement he continued to substitute in several south Okanagan schools.
He (and Carol) loved to travel and explore many worldwide destinations including Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Europe, Thailand, Canada and the USA.
Ted was part of many clubs and organizations including the Alberta Teachers’ Association, the Arts council in Osoyoos including Osoyoos Senior’s Centre, adult and high school drama clubs where he both acted and directed as well as a semi-professional band member.
Ted was very involved in the Baptist church as a worship leader, elder, and moderator.
Over his lifetime he received numerous awards for acting, directing, and community involvement with various groups.
His hobbies included music, drama, literature – all of the arts, bridge, and travel.
Ted was very patient, kind, generous, loving, and social. He took immense joy in visiting his children, grand-children, family, and friends, He was an extremely talented singer, guitar player, actor, and director. He is greatly missed by his family and many friends.
