January 29, 1955 – February 21, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Darlene Georgina Shannon (Brimacombe) on February 21st, 2025.

She was predeceased by her father Ronald Brimacombe and partner Norman Grimard.

She will be fondly remembered by her mother, Georgianna Brimacombe; sister, Shari Cummings (John), brother, Bryan Brimacombe (Terri); daughter, Nadine Derbyshire (Shawn), daughter, Liane Willburn (Brandon); grandchildren, Alyssa, Gracie, Sophie, Sebastian and Louise.

Darlene was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1955. Since her father was in the Air Force, the family lived in BC, Alberta and Germany before residing in Oliver, BC in 1969.

Darlene ran a small daycare in her home for approximately 15 years in Oliver, BC. Nadine and Liane were fortunate enough to have Darlene take care of their children while they worked.

Darlene had so much love for her grandchildren, including her grand dogs.

If you knew Darlene, you would know that she had a lifelong love for Bingo! She also loved crossword puzzles, playing different card games, and having morning coffee with her friends. Later on in life, she took up darts and pool.

A celebration of life will be held on March 29th at 11:00 am at the Elks Hall in Oliver, BC. A private family graveside service was held prior to the celebration of life.
