Chelsea Elizabeth Cameron-Horner
November 22, 1991 to March 14, 2024
It is with profound sadness that the family of Chelsea Cameron-Horner announce her passing from complications following emergency surgery. She leaves to mourn her mom, Joan; her brother Will, his partner Alicia and their sons Hunter and Kaleb; her grandpa Alec Cameron; her friend Daniel and their dog Sawyer. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her dad William, great grandmother Daisy, grandpa Jack, grandma Betty, step-grandpa Jack, and grandma Darlene. And, her pets Lily and Thomas.
Chelsea spent all of her life in Osoyoos, and really loved this community. Throughout her life she became involved with many groups and activities. She was most proud of her time as Osoyoos Princess 2008 through 2010. As a “sparkle head” she travelled the province bringing Canada’s warmest welcome to many communities and events. She went on to run in the BC Ambassador program in 2015 where she won several awards. In 2017 she ran in the Miss Canada Globe national pageant as Miss Southwest BC. With that program she got to walk the runway at New York fashion week for a Canadian designer. That program also took her to El Salvador for the Mesoamerica International pageant.
Only those closest to her knew of her many medical struggles. Hers were “invisible” conditions so to look at her you would not know what effort it took to live day by day. She did it with patience and grace rarely complaining; even at the end. Despite all of this, she enjoyed many adventures and loved working as a nanny for local families and tourists. Please know that she loved and cherished your “littles” in her care.
A celebration of her life will be held April 27th at noon at the Sonora Community Centre in Osoyoos.
In lieu of flowers please donate in her memory to the Genetic Aortic Disorders Association of Canada.
