Betty Ann Hudson (Barrows)

Betty Ann Hudson (Barrows), aged 80, of Oliver, British Columbia, passed away on March 25, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Betty was a very giving, loving, and patient person who had many friends who cherished her deeply. She was born on October 10, 1943 in Oxbow Saskatchewan. She grew up mainly in the Vancouver B.C. Canada area. She attended Kitsilano High School through 1960. She met Harry Hudson on a blind date in 1959 and they were married on July 25, 1960. They had 3 children from 1961-1969.

Betty was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army from 1977 to 1990, which took her and her family to several states as well as Germany. While in Germany she and her family travelled to many European countries. She was a dedicated member of the Valley Congregational Church and found solace in her faith. Betty enjoyed sewing, reading, and traveling in her free time. Before joining the Army, the family moved many times to several states including Florida, Hawaii & Washington, as well as within Canada.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Hudson; daughters Leah (Sandra Lee Cooper) and Kelley Hudson (Ty McLaughlin); son Jim Hudson; grandchildren Misty Dawn Pendergrast (Tom), Bethanie Ann Graffeo (Michael), Laura Lee, and Wesley Hudson; great-grandchildren Robert David Pendergrast and Kira Mercy Pendergrast. Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen Rosemary (Flack) and Albert Barrows, as well as her mother and father-in-law, Daisy (Bell) and Harry Percy Hudson.

A ceremony to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on May 25, 2024, in Oliver, B.C., Canada. Contributions in her memory can be made to any battered women’s shelter. The funeral services are entrusted to Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service & Crematorium in Oliver, B.C., Canada.
