Osoyoos’s Parent Advisory Councils (PACs) will have to make do with fewer provincial Community Gaming Grant dollars this year.
For the 2009/2010 school year, PACs around the province will receive a payment of $10 per student, down from the $20 per student handed out in previous years.
The owner of an 8.8-hectare piece of land on Main Street known as the Wish property intends to apply to the Agricultural Land Commission to have the site removed from the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR).
The land, located at 4927 Main St. is owned by Kevin Demers of Holiday Trails RV Resorts, a company that owns RV resorts in B.C., Washington state and Alberta.

“It’s always really rankled me,” said Barb Stephens, owner of Yore Movie Store on Main Street. “I abhor those signs. Being able to use a washroom is a human right. A basic human need.”
