Police are reminding motorists to chill out and be patient with other drivers. This advice comes after a “road rage” incident on Highway 97 at Road 1 on March 24.

At 2:30 p.m., police received several 911 calls regarding a disturbing incident at the intersection near Canadian Tire. According to RCMP, the driver of a green Cavalier decided to cut off a blue Silverado pulling a utility trailer because it had cut him off while passing at Road 21.

“A minor collision occurred with some profanities, threats and posturing,” said Oliver RCMP Sgt. Don Wrigglesworth.

The commander said police interviewed all parties and witnesses, reviewed videos and determined that both parties were at fault for a number of motor vehicle infractions that quickly escalated into the criminal realm.

No injuries were sustained by any party.

“Drivers are reminded to be patient with each other and never resort to this kind of behaviour, especially while operating a motor vehicle,” Wrigglesworth said.
