Born in Tehran, Mami was a devote member of the Baha’i Faith. He was a Civil Engineer in Iran and migrated to Canada in 1986. Upon moving to Canada he lived in Calgary, AB, Okotoks, AB, London, Ont, Penticton, BC and then moved to Osoyoos,BC.

Mami opened Mami’s Pizza in Osoyoos in 1994, and operated it for 19 years, then opened Meeka’s Kitchen and Mami worked extremely hard and developed many friendships within the community.

He was predeceased by his father Badiullah Sobhani and his Mother Rezvanieh Laghai,

Family was very important in Mami’s life. He leaves behind and will be truly missed by his wife Shahla Nikanpour, Sahel Sobhani (Daughter), Sahand Sobhani (Son), Sadaf Sobhani (Daughter), and three Grandchildren Keanna, Aryan, and Meeya.

Mami was the second of six siblings Riaz (Niloofar) Sobhani – brother, Mahvash (Ajit) Parelkar- sister, Parivash (Kamiab) Ahmadi – sister, Mahnaz Sobhani – sister, Bahram Sobhani – brother. And many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of the physicians, specialists, and nursing staff at South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver, BC Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC and Penticton Regional Hospital where he spent his final days.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date so that we can celebrate the loving, kind and amazing person Mami was.
