It is with profound sadness that we announce our dear mom, Encarnaçao Ferreira Rodrigues, 88, passed away peacefully on Jan 1, 2020 surrounded by family. Encarnaçao (Carnation) will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, Elisabeth Klak (Steve) of Victoria, BC. and Bernadette da Costa (Jose) of Sherwood Park, AB; grandchildren Stephanie, Nicolas, Jose (Kathy), and Miguel; sister Olinda Ferreira Gaspar (Porfirio) of Lisbon; sisters-in-law, Virginia Ferreira of Victoria and Candida Ferreira of Osoyoos; brother-in-law, Jack Rodrigues (Alice) of Kelowna, and her many nieces and nephews.

Encarnaçao was born in Ourondo, Portugal. She married the love of her life, Jose Gaspar Rodrigues in 1957 and they moved to Canada in 1960, where they established themselves as orchardists until their retirement in 1991. Mom enjoyed gardening and sharing her harvest with family and friends. She spent countless hours crocheting and loved cooking.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday January 11, 2020 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Osoyoos, BC. Rosary will precede the Mass at 10:15 am. Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery followed by a reception in the church lower hall.
