Phyllis Louise Vincent
Phyllis Louise Vincent left us Saturday September 7, 2019 and joined Dad after a feisty few weeks following hip surgery. A young girl from the Gaspe’ Peninsula left a big mark on this earth. She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, flight attendant, kindergarten teacher, librarian, volunteer, pet-lover and to anyone who knew her a free-spirit who enjoyed her independence.
She is survived by her daughter Penny and husband Jim Donaldson, her son Bob and his wife Sandi and 2 wonderful grandchildren Dustin and Drew. Even in the last days her room was filled with laughter as we reminisced about memories of the antics of the Vincent family growing up and growing old together.
We cannot express enough gratitude to her physician Dr. Tarr, Dr. Taylor and the staff at the Penticton Regional Hospital, South Okanagan General Hospital and Sunnybank Centre short-stay program. Your efforts taking care of mom and bringing a smile to her face in these final weeks will always be remembered. Thank-you.
After many years of being an RCAF family the Vincent’s touched down in Osoyoos in 1964 where mom and dad enjoyed another 50 years. To the many friends she and dad leave behind, thank-you for being part of their lives.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the BCSPCA to help them continue their great work. Or better yet, if you have room adopt a new friend. They’ll fill your heart with love much like Mango the Cat and Sammy the dog did for so many years.
And from all of us to all of you, don’t forget to hug someone you love today. Life changes in an instant. Love you mom. Say ‘hi’ to dad.
A memorial service will be held at Saturday September 14, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, Osoyoos BC with a reception to follow in the church lower hall.
