William (Bill) Herman Fuhrmeister
On Friday, August 14, 2020, Mr. William (Bill) Herman Fuhrmeister of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at Moog & Friends Hospice House at the age of 85 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Wilhelm and Dora.
Bill will be fondly remembered by his sister Ingrid of California; companion and caregiver Suzannah Wish of Osoyoos as well as extended family and friends.
Bill lived his life to the fullest – HIS WAY!!
We laughed — we cried, as you fought to regain, that which the stroke had stolen from you. Your running, your shooting, your love of photography, computer programming, which you shared with many younger people, your cars and NASCAR racing. Your many trips to your home in Palm Springs. Your entrepreneurial expertise, as you built Starcrest Manufacturing and Petrocan gas station in Vancouver. Your many stories of growing up in “war torn” Germany and arriving in Canada as a DP (displaced person).
Rest In Peace Villie— my family and I are grateful to have had you in our lives, I can still hear your laughter as you tried to teach me the German alphabet.
As with your sister Ingrid – I, Suzannah Wish, your companion/caregiver and my family have many fond memories and the greatest respect for all that you accomplished in your life. Frank Sinatra’s song — I DID IT MY WAY— tells your story, to the fullest.
