Albert John Ratsoy

On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, Albert John Ratsoy peacefully passed away surrounded by his family at South Okanagan General Hospital.

He was predeceased by his parents William (Bill) and Mary Ratsoy and sisters Eunice Ratsoy and Natalka Huculak.

Albert is survived by his wife Barb Kowal; son Aaron Ratsoy and daughter-inlaw Kimberly Ratsoy; son Ivan (Brody) Ratsoy, his partner Sasha Robertson and her daughter Kaela Crafton; brother Eugene Ratsoy and sister-in-law Jeannie Ratsoy; grandchildren Alyvia and Rachel
Ratsoy; and mother of his children, Heather Ratsoy.

Albert was born on April 25, 1947 in Winnipeg, MB and grew up in Smokey Lake, AB.

He retired after 35 years with Imperial Oil as an Engineer and finished his career as a consultant before fully retiring in 2018.

Albert was a collector of Native American art and history, an avid photographer of flowers and nature and loved a good poker game.

Albert moved to Oliver, BC from Edmonton, AB and spent his last 5 years there with Barb, enjoying the relaxing lifestyle of the Okanagan.

He will be greatly missed by his family, and friends as far away as Trinidad and Tobago.

Due to the compassion and care that was provided to Albert during his final months, donations can be made to the South Okanagan General Hospital in his name.
