It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Blanche Wingenback on Thursday August 13, 2020, at the age of 74.

Blanche was born on May 10, 1946 in Oliver, BC.

She was predeceased by her mother, Eleanor; her father, Edward; brother Kenny, and her loving husband, Harry.

Blanche will lovingly be remembered by her son Grant (Nina); brother’s Jim (Cindy); Edgar (Yolanda); sister Shirley (Marty); as well as nieces and nephews Ryan (Krystal); Tonya (Kourosh); Tyler (Amanda); Jessica; Shawn (Cathy); Sara (Jenn); Derek (Marissa); and 13 great- nieces and nephews.

Blanche grew up in Osoyoos surrounded by her family, which she adored. On October 2, 1965 she married her soul mate Harry and together, in 1973, they opened Napa Auto Parts in Oliver, which they operated for 30 years.

Blanche will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was extremely kind, strong, and selfless, always putting others first and willing to lend a helping hand. She was devoted to her faith and proud to be a member of the Catholic Women’s League.

The family would like to express a special thank-you to the staff at Dr. Andrew Pavilion in Summerland for their care and compassion.

A private family service will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment and committal will follow at Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations will gratefully be accepted to The Alzheimer Society.
