At least one person was injured after a truck rolled into the irrigation canal north of Oliver on the evening of April 2.
Oliver Fire Department spokesperson Rob Graham said the initial call at approximately 11 p.m. was a vehicle rollover on Highway 97 at Gallagher Lake Frontage Road.
But there was no accident there.
Then BC Ambulance received a more accurate location apparently from a family member of the victim.
“What was found was a vehicle in the canal behind the Country Pines mobile home park. The vehicle had rolled off the road above the canal where there is a bit of a hillside,” Graham said.
He stated it was unknown what caused the rollover or what injuries were sustained. The driver was treated by paramedics.
The Osoyoos Times is still waiting for details from the RCMP.
