An April Fools joke posted to social media in Osoyoos was in “very poor taste,” RCMP said.
The post in Osoyoos on Touch Social claimed to be a reverse welcome wagon hiring locals to go door to door seeking sponsors for immigrant workers
“It inappropriately spoke about how the workers would in turn provide special favours to the homeowners,” said Sgt. Jason Bayda with the Osoyoos RCMP.
“The poster advised us it was an April Fools joke. It was certainly in very poor taste and instilled fear in many locals. We addressed it with the poster and they have since removed it.”
